Independent Country are 6 cowboys from Birmingham (UK) who take Indie classics on a rollicking ride to Nashville and back.
Floppy fringes and baggy jeans are swapped for pedal steel guitars and four-part harmonies as the NME meets The Grand Ole Opry. You ain’t heard nothing like this!
Saddle up your ponies and say hello to the best gang in town…
The 2nd in a series of new three track EPs from Independent Country is out on 28th March.
This time featuring recordings of songs originally by Hot Chip, The Verve, and Butthole Surfers.
How's that for variety? Pretty much all of your daily Indie vitamins on one EP.

Before that we have slots booked at the Shiiiine On Weekender in Skegness, and the lovely Bearded Theory Festival in Debryshire. There are other shows around the UK at various venues. See the full list and links below.

The band have played festivals and venues all over the UK, including The Union Chapel, Shiiine On and Moseley Folk Festival.
They bring either full-band sets that'll tear the house down on a raucous Saturday night, or else a laid-back acoustic show that will provide the ideal soundtrack to a regretful, hungover Sunday.
Watch them in action in the playlist of live videos below. Songs by Arctic Monkeys, Nirvana and more...

“It’s fairly easy to apply the tropes of one musical genre to a song from another; it takes real skill and inspiration to make the new versions sound like that’s how they were always meant to be. Independent Country have both in abundance.”
"The best thing I have EVER heard”
"A bold retelling of classic songs as distinctive alt-country performances. Storyteller vocals and skilled instrumentation shape pristine interpretations"
