American Portions is out now!

Howdy bab,

Our new album, “American Portions” is released today. We’re really pleased with this one, and we hope you like it.

This time, we’ve gone Stateside and have taken on some US Alternative and College Rock favourites. Nirvana, Pavement, Pixies, Dinosaur Jnr, Queens of the Stone Age, REM and others are all given the full Independent Country treatment. 11 tracks, clocking in at around 40 minutes, and packing a mean punch.

The record is now available to stream on our Bandcamp page, where there are also CD copies available. Thanks to everyone who pre-ordered!

The CDs come in a lovely gatefold sleeve with a full colour booklet, and there’s a bonus track not available on streaming services. You can pick the CD up for £11 (+ postage), or you could go for the £25 Full Discography bundle – this gets you CD copies of American Portions, our previous two albums (TrailerParkLike and True Adventures), and the Brassneck EP.

You’ve also find the record on other streaming services, such as Spotify. Please do consider telling your friends all about us by sharing these links. We’re very proud of this record, and we’d like as many people as possible to hear it. Adding songs to playlists, and whatnot, all helps grease the algorithmic wheels.

Now that we’ve let this one fly the nest to make it’s way in the big, bad world, we’ll be swiftly moving on the next one. In fact, we’ve already made a start down at the Independent Country Ranch. Keep ’em peeled for news on that soon.

In the meantime, eat up your American Portions!

Love from,

CHiPs, Doc, The Swede, Randy, Bobby P and Magic Dave

Bandcamp EP#5

The fifth of our Bandcamp EPs is released today.

A choice selection this month folks. First up we have the original version of our take on Primal Scream’s “Rocks”. We played it this way live for about a year before recording it on our second LP with some fairly big changes. It made a big difference but listening back to this band demo, the original had plenty of charm.

Next up was a very late entrant into the batch of songs we did for the second album. In the end, we didn’t finish during the sessions, adding everything in our home studios instead. Thi allowed us to get a warmer acoustic vibe than would have been possible in those LP2 sessions which were intentionally capturing the band live and loud.

Finally, another live cut from our gig at the Midlands Art Centre in 2018. New Order’s True Faith is one of my favourites from the first LP but it’s not had too many live outings. This version is pretty sweet though. Nigel Darville’s Hammond organ is perfect.

Take care

Doc x

Here Comes Your Man

Howdy bab,

The mercury is rising slowly as we creep through April, and we hope you are all in good shape. Just a quick note from the Independent Country Ranch to let you know that we have a new single out today. It’s our take on the 1989’s Here Comes Your Man, originally by Pixies and from their classic Doolittle album.

We’re taken this one on a road trip with Harry Nilsson, adding in some extra hooks and harmonies, and going full country jangle. The single is available on all digital services, and has also been added to the pre-order for American Portions. Those of you who have ordered already should now be able to access through you Bandcamp accounts.

Find Here Comes Your Man on digital services here: https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/independentcountry/here-comes-your-man
